Submitting Dependent Care FSA claims with Navia Benefits

As a new Sequoia One hire, your FSA is likely still being processed and you’ll soon receive more information from Navia, including your Navia debit card. You can create an account at https://www.naviabenefits.com/ (note, if this is your first time logging in, you will need to register first using Employer Code S1P).

Direct Deposit tip: Once set up, if you would like to receive your FSA reimbursement via direct deposit in the future, you can setup a direct deposit account in Navia.

How to Submit a Claim (there are a few different ways to submit a claim to Navia):

  1. You can use the Sequoia Mobile App to submit claims through your phone. Just click on the "Reimburse Me" tile.
  2. Use Navia’s Online Claim Submission tool at www.naviabenefits.com. You just need to fill out your claim information, upload supporting documents from your computer, and click submit.
  3. By Mail or Email. Complete a claim form, attach your itemized documentation, then email or mail your claim to Navia.

It is important to send the proper documentation that supports the claim. The IRS requires that the documentation shows the:

  1. Date(s) of service (Must fall within the benefit period)
  2. Type of service provided (Examples: After school care, summer day camp, preschool)
  3. Cost of service provided
  4. Provider tax ID or SSN
  5. Name of dependent
  6. Age or Date of Birth of dependent

Itemized bills or invoices from child care providers are usually sufficient forms of documentation. You do not need to show proof of payment. If your child care provider is an individual or does not give you an itemized bill/invoice showing the above requirements, please use the Day Care Service Form to serve as your documentation.

Please note it can take approximately 1 week for a claim to be processed, and then reimbursement will be issued.
